Day 341 – He’s Still Smiling!

He’s still smiling   …

buuuuuuuuuuuuuut …

Well, as I reported in my Day 314 post the wild wind had taken off his wheel and dumped it into our pet duck Demelza’s pond.  Paul retrieved it and fixed it back on so Froggie was all back to normal.  Until now …

Ooooooh poor Froggie!!  It wasn’t his wheel this time that was whipped off his post by the really wild wind, it was him!!

We found him all dumped and forlorn in Demelza’s pond, just where his wheel had previously been, so Froggie was retrieved but can’t be fixed back onto his post!!!

But, he’s still smiling even though he has also lost two of the petals on his flower, which we can’t find!!  Oh dear, this is such a shame as he has been such a cheery chap to have in the garden.

Day 325 – A Family Visit

We were visited on this particular day by Paul’s son David, our daughter-in-law Mandy and our grandchildren Lauren and Lewis.

The children were amazed at meeting Auntie Lucy as at 101 years old she must have seemed extremely ancient – especially when they probably think someone in their thirties is old!!

Although not showing all the family, this photo is a little record of the visit!  :-)

David and Lewis are playing with Pippin and her toys and Pips is watching David who has hold of her Huffy Puppy!!  It’s almost like she is wondering what he is doing with it and wants it back!!  :-)

Lewis has found her big SantaMan (well you can’t really miss him) and is trying to play with Pips, but she only wants to see what David is up to with her toy!!

Day 314 – Oh Dear!!!

I have taken lots of photos of greenery in our garden when the very wild windy weather has been blowing it about like crazy, just to try to illustrate exactly how strong the wind was, but never seemed to show it well.

On the day I took this photograph I discovered I have another way of showing just how wild the wind had been during the night before!!

Original photograph taken by me - copyright 2011/2012

What is that you might say!  Well a long time ago in this photo journal I wrote a post for Day 95 called A Bit Of Fun.  That post in May shows a new fun windmill type thing we placed in the garden, partly for our grandchildren but also to stop grandchildren and pets falling into one of our pet duck Demelza’s ponds.  It was a cheery looking Froggie and he had a big coloured wheel below him which spun furiously in the wind.

That’s the wheel now lying in one of Demelza’s ponds after extremely strong winds during the night whilst we were all sleeping!  It has since been retrieved and fitted back on to the Froggie, but it is a little more battered now!!

Day 311 – Chums

This is another of those photographs I just had to take as I came across these little chums by chance and they were just there, not placed deliberately or anything like that.

You’re probably pleased that this isn’t yet another photo of our doggie Pippin, but it is a pic of her toys!!

Sometimes when there are several in a pile together, she will stick her nose in amongst them to choose one to play with.  She had obviously been doing that here and this is how they were left, so as the toys were looking chummy together and cuddling up I just had to take a pic of them!!  :-)

Day 282 – Pips and her toys!

Our doggie Pippin appears several times in this photo journal (well, I think she is very cute and pretty  :-) ) and I have mentioned before how she likes to play for a while and then has a little snooze afterwards.

That is what has happened when I took this photo.    Awwwwwwww!  :-)

Original photograph taken by me - copyright 2011/2012

I wonder if all those toys make a comfortable pillow?  I think they must do as Pippin usually rests her head on one or two or more of them after playing, ready for a little snooze.  She does love her toys, for all sorts of reasons!!  :-)

Day 153 – Having Such Fun

This is another photograph of Pippin – I’m pretty sure she will be appearing in this photo journal quite a lot over the 365 days of pics!!

The reason I took this pic is because in all the seven years that we have had her after she was rescued from a year of terrible abuse, although she has got lots of toys, they stay in the house.  She has a tugger thing and a football to play with in the garden so her house toys stay indoors.

But, for some reason Pippin decided to take her Blue Monkey into the garden with her (it is named that as she has another monkey the same colour, so the blue bit comes from it’s hands, feet and face, lol).  ;-)

So, as this was completely new for Pippin to do, I thought it best to record it for this photo journal and took a couple of pics of her racing around the garden with her toy.

Pippin thoroughly enjoyed herself racing around the garden with her house toy!!  My man Paul was at the end of the garden pretending to get Blue Monkey – such fun!!

Here is another pic of Pippin playing in the garden.

I’m not so sure what Blue Monkey thinks of being raced all around the garden, but he did look quite relieved once back inside the house.  :-)

Day 145 – Afterwards!

This is just for fun and one of those spur of the moment type pics.  I have mentioned before that our doggie Pippin likes to have a play after her dinner and she has a couple of small rugs, called Pippin’s Rugs, that she likes to scuffle up, move around, throw in the air, roll on her back on and all sorts.

Well, she did that this evening and afterwards I just had to take a pic of what I saw as it is just how Pippin left it!  This was my view from where I was sitting!

Ha ha, Pips had played around with the rugs so much, one of her toys was obviously stuck under it and was just peeping out when I saw it.

I walked around to see what it looked like from another viewpoint.

I think Fluffy Bear looks lovely and cosy tucked in under the rugs!   ;-)

Day 126 – Bath Time!

A few days ago it was our doggie Pippin’s birthday.  She has quite a lot of toys to play with and although she never damages them, however rough she plays, they do get a bit grotty and in need of a wash!

On the day I took this photograph, some of Pippin’s toys had been gathered up, and bundled into the bathroom for their bath.  ;-)

Whenever I wash Pippin’s toys, they have a good shampoo and get dunked a lot in nice hot water.  Afterwards, although I wring them a bit to get rid of excess water, they tend to drip rather a lot if I hang them somewhere to dry.  So, to prevent the dripping, they sit in the sink for a few hours to drain off a bit.  Here are some of the toys after a good bath!!

Lol, these chaps are, from the left as you look at them, Hattie, Fluffy Bear, Patch and Blue Monkey!!  All Pippin’s toys have names and she knows which one is which if you tell her to get a particular one!

Day 122 – Birthday Gal

Today is our pet doggie Pippin’s 8th birthday.  We always feel her birthdays are very special because 7 years ago, if we had not given her a home with us, the RSPCA who had rescued her from a year of terrible, cruel abuse were going to put her to sleep because they just did not have the time to devote to her for the help she needed to get over what had happened to her.

So, if we had not taken her to live with us, she would not be here now and would not have had the last seven birthdays.  She’s still frightened of things but a much more confident and very happy gal.

We gave her two new toys today, one is called Freddie Flea (that’s on the label and the makers added that it gives dogs a chance to bite back, lol). The other toy is a tugger thing with what looks like the head of a cute cow!!

Pips had great fun playing with her new toys and this photograph is of her having a rest with her new playthings after all that playing about with them.

Original photograph taken by me - copyright 2011

Shortly after this photo was taken, Pippin was snoozing with her head on the new toys.  Aaaaaaah!  :-)

Here is another pic taken when she was playing with them.

Pippin has a collection of toys now and they all have a turn being played with.  She has two or three particular favourites, but the others are never forgotten.  I wonder if Freddie Flea will end up being a particular favourite?  ;-)

Day 26: Pippin Snoozing With Her Toys!

As a matter of routine, our lovely doggie Pippin always loves to have a game after her dinner.  Then she usually likes to play on the settee and scuffle about a bit so all the cushions come off and to her that’s great fun.

After a little while she likes to have a snooze.  Usually she will lie on the floor, anywhere, but her head is always where one of her toys are that she has been playing with during the day.  She uses any toy as a pillow.

Today she had her snooze with her toy, but this time her head was using all the toys in her “toy corner” as a pillow, so I just had to take a pic of that.  :-)

Original photograph taken by me today 24 February 2011 - copyright 2011

Yes, I know, she does have a lot of toys!!  They sit in the “toy corner” and she chooses which she wants to play with each day.  Pippin has some real favourites but they all get to come out to play at some time or other.  She never damages them although they get tugged and pulled, tossed in the air, cleaned (as if they are a puppy), and shaken about a bit!

Seeing her with her head on the toys in “toy corner” looked cute from where I was so that is why I have taken that photograph today.  I daresay as the Project progresses through the 365 days that Pippin will be in some of those photos along the way!!  ;-)
