We were out and about on our travels when this caught my eye.
I’ve actually seen this shrub many times but on this particular day it looked more grown and much more green than usual, so it was very striking growing out of the rock where it lives.
For the first time since his operation Paul has been able to drive. So on his first day back at driving we all went out for a ride and to do some shopping.
As it was a cause for celebration I decided that I really must take a photo of anything while we were at last out and about on our travels!
So, parked up and this is what I took the photo of, a view of what was ahead of us.
Look, the town is getting ready for Christmas!! Some of my very early photos in Project 365 mentioned the Christmas decorations from the previous Christmas still up in towns two or three months later!
I suppose these aren’t too early as it was November when I took this photo. Time to start feeling festive!!
This photo was taken when we were out and about on our travels and was taken through the car window and a plastic window on the side of a ferry, so the image is not the best, but I think it shows the lovely view I was trying to take.
Even if I had stood outside the car, I would never have been able to avoid the plastic window on the side of the ferry as it was just too tall and too long. Still, I hope it captures a little of the beautiful view of the sun on the water.
We were out and about on our travels when I took this photograph. I just thought it was a nice view and then when I finally added it to my computer I was surprised to see just how beautiful this scene looked, even though I say it myself.
I just love how the sun is shining on the sea, makes me want to go for a paddle!!
I took this photograph as we were driving along in the car. We could not park anywhere so I just had to click as best I could while I had the chance!
The reason I wanted to take the photo is because it was not something we normally see, so I thought it would be good for this photo journal.
There were about twenty cows in this field, and they were all in a very straight line as they followed each other across the field. Unfortunately, some of the hedges got in the way every time I tried to take a pic as we were moving along all the time, so I haven’t been able to take a photo showing just how interesting it was to see!!
I’ve got some lovely pics of hedges though, lol.
Well, I am almost up-to-date with my little backlog of daily photos!
On the day I took this post’s photograph it was one of the very very few summery days we are having.
We were in Falmouth and I took a photograph looking straight across to St. Mawes.
The photo looks much better if you click on it to see it bigger. And I’ve just noticed two odd things in it. Just above where I have written “Original photograph taken by me” there looks to be a part of a building under the water!! I did not notice this at all when I took the pic. Also, as you look across the sea, a little above the “building” under the water, is a black shape. It’s not a bouy and it does not look like a bird to me and again, it’s not something I noticed when I took the pic. I wonder what it is?
Shortly after I took this pic, the view was blocked by a ship being towed by tugs from the docks out to the wide open sea. We think the poor thing was on its way to the scrapyard!! Still, it was a beautiful day – shame we’re not getting too many of them.
Today is the day before the longest day. We are in June and it is this time of year that is part of the high season for holidaymakers and the time when places to stay on holiday are at a higher rate to pay because June, July and August are the better months for the good weather and for holidays.
So, how was it today?
Well, it certainly does not look like a glorious, sunny, hot, beautiful day does it? It was very very cold, my hands were like ice most of the day. After going out and about today, we had to put the heating on at home – which is something we never have done in June!!
We had heavy rain, the very big drops kind, lots of wind, thick fog, and cold cold cold!! I’m really convinced that the seasons are changing. It might take a number of years yet, but I really think we had better weather in April.
Perhaps as tomorrow is the longest day and then the nights start drawing in, it might be a beautiful day. Let’s hope so.
Yesterday we were out and about and went to have a look at The Minack Theatre. This is an open air theatre, built many years ago, I think maybe the 1930s or thereabouts. It sits on the side of a cliff overlooking the sea and lovely views to one side.
Although this is June, supposed to be summertime, yesterday was wet, windy, dull, cold and really like a winter’s day.
Despite the weather the performers in yesterday’s afternoon show at the Minack continued and for a while the sun decided to shine. The Minack does not cancel any day time or evening performances unless the weather is extremely bad. So as it is open air, those in the audience suffer the weather, whatever it is, just like the performers.
But it is a beautiful place, just lovely.
As can be seen from the photo the audience sits all up one side of the theatre, they get to sit very high indeed and there are lots of steps dotted about the side of the cliff so they can climb down to their seats if they choose to sit lower down.
I had to stay at the top as being disabled there is no way I could clamber down or back up any of the steps. But it is possible to see all the performance and the sound is very good. It’s a beautiful place!
I’ve been a bit busy the last few days, so although I have been taking photographs each day, this is the first chance to post them.
For the first of the pics I am posting today, we were out and about and noticed that a windmill/wind turbine thingy that always looked quite big and was always on it’s own whenever we drove by it, was on this particular day no longer alone – and it was no longer looking quite so big!!
As you can see from the photograph, the smaller one was already quite a big thing, when you look at it near the houses but now it has been joined by a much bigger object which completely looms over everything around!! Hope they won’t be putting too many of those up – I would much rather see the trees than a huge object reaching high up to the sky!!
Today we went over to St. Mawes to visit my Aunt. It was an absolutely glorious, beautiful sunny day. I think the summer is at last on its way!!
The view out the window was lovely, all the boats bobbing about on the sea. It just looked so good I decided to take a photograph of it.
And yes, I did deliberately take the pic with the chimney pot in it because the Seagull was busy looking out at all he surveyed while I was looking out at it all as well and I thought it would be a good point of interest in the photo.
As the Seagull looked so good I decided to take a closeup pic of him, as long as he stayed there.
Even if I say so myself, I think he looks pretty good in this photo. I think he knew I was taking his pic so stayed there for a while longer posing.
