Day 336 – New Year’s Day

Following on from my Post 335 for New Year’s Eve, here is the same view on New Year’s Day, except this time it is in the day rather than the nighttime pic I had in the previous post!

Again, not too thrilling but it’s just something I wanted to try with two photographs from one year to the next!!  :-)

Let’s hope I can take photographs that are more interesting than this in the small part of this New Year that will be included in my Project 365!   Only a few more weeks or so to go now.  :-)

Day 335 – New Year’s Eve

I don’t think this is a very thrilling photo for New Year’s Eve but I decided that I wanted to take a photograph of something on the last day of the year and then take a photograph of the same thing on the first day of the New Year.

As we weren’t really going out anywhere special to see the New Year in, I took a photo just looking outside our front door in the evening, a few hours before midnight.

It doesn’t look very thrilling does it?  I was hoping someone might let off an early firework and that would look pretty in the sky!!  ;-)

Day 278 – Auntie Lucy’s 101st Birthday

On the day I took this photo it was Auntie Lucy’s 101st Birthday.  We just had a little family gathering this year, so a little quiet “do” for her.

A year before this Auntie Lucy had a big party for all her family and friends where she lives.  She was on the go all day and on into late evening.  Everyone marvelled at her energy and just how active she was.  She had been excited leading up to her 100th birthday as so many people stopped her in the village where she lived and marvelled with her at her wonderful age.

So for Auntie’s 101st birthday it was much more low-key, mainly because she wasn’t quite so well and quite weak especially with not eating or drinking much.

She did manage a bit of birthday cake and we all had a lovely day.  :-)

Day 231 – Paul’s Birthday

On the day this photograph was taken it was Pauls’ Birthday.  During the day we were visited by Paul’s son Clive with his partner Shelley and their children Sirenna and Logan.

Paul’s daughter Claire visited us in the evening with her partner Andy and my brother Alan also visited us so we had a lovely, busy day seeing everyone.

These are just some of Paul’s as yet unopened pressies.  Always seems a shame to unwrap them doesn’t it?  ;-)

We already had a birthday cake for Paul, but his grandchildren bought this cake so we had to stick some candles on it and take a pic!!  It seems dreadful to cut up such a wonderful cake but we did and it was very tasty!!  :-)

Day 141 – Father’s Day

Yesterday was Father’s Day, so we had all sorts of visitors.  The day before we were visited by my man Paul’s son David, his wife Mandy and their son Lewis.  They were going to be busy yesterday so came a day early to give Paul his present and card from them.  As always it was great to see them.

Paul’s youngest son Clive arrived yesterday with his other half Shelley and their two children Sirenna and Logan.  While they were here, Paul’s daughter Claire arrived with her man Andy so it was quite a gathering!

Here is Paul with some of his presents.

I think Paul doesn’t know which pressie to open first!!

We had a lovely day and it was so good to see all the family over two days.  Paul also got some Father’s Day pressies from Pippin, Demelza and The Fishy Folk – our pets! :-)

Day 138 – Shopping For Father’s Day

Today we have been out and about and so I did some shopping for Father’s Day which is coming on Sunday.

I decided that I would take a pic reflecting this special shopping as it is for a special day, so here it is!!

Ha ha ha, look, a bag of shopping!!  Lol.  Well, it has several bags of shopping in it, I had to get the outer bag to sort of hide things as some items could be seen through the plastic bags and as I was with my man Paul who’s special day it will be on Sunday, I did not want him to see what I had bought.

We are silly, I know, but the Father’s Day pressies are from our pets to their Dad!! (Pippin our doggie, Demelza our ducky and the Fishy Folk, our tropical fishy pets).  We’ve always done that for each other so it’s a bit of fun.  My own dear Dad and Paul’s dear Dad are sadly no longer with us, so we can’t buy any pressies for them.  Paul’s children usually come and visit on Father’s Day and bring their cards and pressies so it will be a busy day for Paul, all that unwrapping of presents.  ;-)
