Day 356 – A Rolling Stone Gathers No Moss

… buuuuuuut, whatever that old saying means, this certainly does …

and it’s not a stone, rolling or otherwise!!!   ;-)

We have been down this street countless times but have never noticed this roof covered in moss.

As we have now just spotted it, I wonder if it has appeared more recently and why would it grow over the roof like that?

We shall have to keep an eye on it and see if any flowers or anything else appears on it now!!  ;-)

Day 338 – Colour On A Dull Day

Hopefully I am now on the last leg of uploading my backlog of daily photographs that I had taken but did not have the chance to add to this photo journal until lately.  I’m really hoping I can get this last lot up today and then go back to posting daily until  my Project 365 comes to an end at the end of this month.

When I took this photograph I wasn’t sure how it would turn out as it was a very dull day, but I must say I am rather pleased with how it looks!!  :-)

I quite like the way the dull colour of the background has blended away to make the red much more prominent.

Day 324 – View From A Window

On this particular day the sun had been shining and apart from being cold and windy was a very nice day.

Now we had our new window we could look out and see things without trying to look at the garden through constant condensation on the window.

So, as I was looking through the window on this sunny day I thought how good this looked so took a photo!

The sky looked such a beautiful blue and together with the white fluffy cloud and green treetops that I could see out of the top of the new window, I felt it was too nice to miss.

I got an added bonus with a seagull flying into view just as I took the photograph and now we appreciate our new window so much because we can actually see out of it properly!  :-)

Day 286 – What Is It?

We had been visited by my dear Mum and brother Alan who stayed several hours on this day.

When they were leaving and walking down the garden path they started looking at something in the grass.

Alan and Mum both looked puzzled and prodded this “something” with a stick and still looked puzzled.

After they went we decided to examine whatever it was more closely.  It had not been there when they first arrived so came in the few hours they were visiting us.

The photo does not show it at it’s best so to speak, but it looked like it was a piece of ice and when touched (with a stick, definitely not fingers, euk, euk, euk) it was crispy, crunchy on the top but all gooey underneath. I suppose it was five to six inches in length and about four inches wide in size.

We had first thought maybe it was frog spawn, but when looking more closely you can see it isn’t.   It disappeared another couple of hours or so later, so what was it?  Where did it come from?  Very intriguing!!!!!
