Day 364 – Not Ready Yet!!

When I first started my Project 365 and was preparing this photo journal to add all the photos, I spent a day getting the banner ready for it which I think was then my Day 2 or Day 3 (so long ago I can’t remember now without looking it up  :-)   ).

Today, I have been working on making something I want to include in my last photo tomorrow for Day 365 and so have taken a photograph of the bits and pieces I am using today for this.

I haven’t quite finished what I am working on for it to be included in tomorrow’s photograph, so am now racing against time to get it done!!

I can’t quite believe that I now only have one more photo to take to bring my Project 365 to an end tomorrow.  :-)

Day 337 – Where Can They Be?

We became aware that Auntie Lucy was searching, searching, searching, going through this, going through that, looking here, looking there and so asked her what she had lost.

She said that she had put her reading spectacles down somewhere and now couldn’t find them.  So we joined the search.  We pulled all the cushions off her chair in case the glasses had slipped down into the chair, we checked all around and under the chair and her table next to her chair and the chair next to that.  We searched our coffee table and the tops of all the other furniture that was in the room but they were nowhere to be found.  Where can they be?

Auntie had also been in the kitchen, bathroom and toilet before she was aware she had lost them, so we searched the kitchen and the utility room and the bathroom and toilet in case she had taken them off and put them down somewhere while she did something else.  They were still nowhere to be found.

So we searched again in all these places and then Paul and I pulled Auntie’s bed out to make sure the spectacles had not fallen onto the floor somewhere or gone under the bed somehow.  We lifted up the sheets and duvet to make sure they hadn’t somehow strayed into the bed.  Still no sign of them.  Where can they be?

Auntie let me go through her handbag with her to make sure they weren’t caught up in her bag somewhere and while we did this Paul emptied the rubbish container out in case Auntie had inadvertently thrown her glasses away.  (She is very forgetful now and is forgetting some things and what they are for, so it would have been possible that she might have thought the rubbish container was something else and put her glasses in there)!  Paul searched through all the rubbish twice.  I think we searched everywhere about three times or more but really no sign of them anywhere.

I said to Auntie not to worry as they will turn up somewhere so let’s leave looking for now (Paul and I were worn out by now) and see if they appear later!!

Then for some reason, just as we stopped looking I said that we did not look under Auntie’s pillows, perhaps they were underneath them so let’s look.

No, they weren’t under the pillows at all.  They were inside the pillowslip of the top pillow where Auntie’s head would have been!!!

She must have been reading in bed the night before and taken them off to slide under the pillows, only putting them inside the pillowslip instead!!!

Should Auntie Lucy lose her reading glasses again, I bet you know the first place we’ll look in future!!!!!  ;-)

Day 286 – What Is It?

We had been visited by my dear Mum and brother Alan who stayed several hours on this day.

When they were leaving and walking down the garden path they started looking at something in the grass.

Alan and Mum both looked puzzled and prodded this “something” with a stick and still looked puzzled.

After they went we decided to examine whatever it was more closely.  It had not been there when they first arrived so came in the few hours they were visiting us.

The photo does not show it at it’s best so to speak, but it looked like it was a piece of ice and when touched (with a stick, definitely not fingers, euk, euk, euk) it was crispy, crunchy on the top but all gooey underneath. I suppose it was five to six inches in length and about four inches wide in size.

We had first thought maybe it was frog spawn, but when looking more closely you can see it isn’t.   It disappeared another couple of hours or so later, so what was it?  Where did it come from?  Very intriguing!!!!!
