Day 280 – Nautical Corner

Just for something a little different.

We have a little corner in our bathroom that is for a few nautical bits and pieces.

These pieces of coral were something my dear Mum and Dad brought back from a holiday many many many years ago, long before people realised that it was not good to take coral away from their natural habitat.

We have always looked after these pieces and I have them now, but I have been considering for a while as to whether they should maybe sit in a tank of water?  Would they look better?  Would it keep them better protected so they don’t break up?  It would be nice to display them better I think.  We’ll have to see what we can come up with.  Any suggestions?

Day 124 – St. Mawes – Looking Lovely

Today we went over to St. Mawes to visit my Aunt.  It was an absolutely glorious, beautiful sunny day.  I think the summer is at last on its way!!

The view out the window was lovely, all the boats bobbing about on the sea.  It just looked so good I decided to take a photograph of it.

And yes, I did deliberately take the pic with the chimney pot in it because the Seagull was busy looking out at all he surveyed while I was looking out at it all as well and I thought it would be a good point of interest in the photo.  :-)

As the Seagull looked so good I decided to take a closeup pic of him, as long as he stayed there.

Even if I say so myself, I think he looks pretty good in this photo.  I think he knew I was taking his pic so stayed there for a while longer posing.    ;-)

Day 89 – Nooooooo, surely not …?

… it isn’t is it?  It can’t be?  It is, you know!!!

It ‘s a Christmas decoration still up and we are almost into May!!!  ;-)

We noticed this decoration attached to a house in a village while we were out and about today so I took the photo as we were driving by.  Perhaps they are leaving it there so it will be ready in good time for the coming Christmas?

Now I have posted this photograph (and shhhhh, I’m not going to say anything about the WordPress gremlins) I can see there is an unusual occurence within the photo.  The nearby tree would be completely bare during the normal time of Christmas decorations, so I have in fact photographed a rare event!!   :-)
