Day 231 – Paul’s Birthday

On the day this photograph was taken it was Pauls’ Birthday.  During the day we were visited by Paul’s son Clive with his partner Shelley and their children Sirenna and Logan.

Paul’s daughter Claire visited us in the evening with her partner Andy and my brother Alan also visited us so we had a lovely, busy day seeing everyone.

These are just some of Paul’s as yet unopened pressies.  Always seems a shame to unwrap them doesn’t it?  ;-)

We already had a birthday cake for Paul, but his grandchildren bought this cake so we had to stick some candles on it and take a pic!!  It seems dreadful to cut up such a wonderful cake but we did and it was very tasty!!  :-)

Day 207 – Visitors!

We had an unplanned visit on the day I took this photograph with my Stepson Clive, Stepdaughter-in-law Shelley and our grandchildren Sirenna and Logan.

As they had recently been on holiday, they also brought with them lots of photos to show us.

My man Paul and I enjoyed looking at all the photos and afterwards Paul made us all a cup of tea.

The children had been wandering around, playing with Pippin’s toys and also playing with our fridge magnets.  (For all the years all our 5 grandchildren have been growing up they all gravitate to the kitchen to rearrange the fridge magnets)!!

While wandering around, the children were told not to go near the cups of tea but unfortunately one of them bumped into the table, knocking over one of the freshly made cuppas.  Panic ensued as the tea spilled out all over the table, and onto some of the photos we had been looking at as well as some of my genealogy notes and papers that were also on the table!!

We were more worried about the photos, so a clean-up operation got under way.

After clearing up the tea that had gone everywhere, Clive and Shelley tried to dry the photos.  There were lots of packs of them that got very wet, so armed with kitchen towel they dabbed at them, so as not to smear them and when they had done that we placed each one all over the room in the hope they would dry off completely.

By the time Clive, Shelley and the children went home, the photos had dried ok and seemingly undamaged!!

I think next time they come with photos, we won’t have any drinks around until they have been looked at and then tucked away out of sight!!

Apart from that, we enjoyed the visit very much.  It is always lovely to see them all.  :-)

Day 141 – Father’s Day

Yesterday was Father’s Day, so we had all sorts of visitors.  The day before we were visited by my man Paul’s son David, his wife Mandy and their son Lewis.  They were going to be busy yesterday so came a day early to give Paul his present and card from them.  As always it was great to see them.

Paul’s youngest son Clive arrived yesterday with his other half Shelley and their two children Sirenna and Logan.  While they were here, Paul’s daughter Claire arrived with her man Andy so it was quite a gathering!

Here is Paul with some of his presents.

I think Paul doesn’t know which pressie to open first!!

We had a lovely day and it was so good to see all the family over two days.  Paul also got some Father’s Day pressies from Pippin, Demelza and The Fishy Folk – our pets! :-)

Day 95 – A Bit Of Fun!

Today’s photograph is just a bit of fun!!  We have a new “toy” in the garden and it serves a couple of functions.  1) – It’s great fun for our grandchildren and 2) – It stops grandchildren and dogs (Pippin) falling into the otherwise hidden pond that is Demelza’s (our pet duck)!

(Once again the WordPress gremlins are absolutely refusing to let me write something underneath the photograph!!!!  I have been onto what WordPress call their “Happiness Engineers” (or Technicians, I can’t remember which) but as yet, nothing has been done about these  gremlins, so I shall carry on above the photo for this post)!!!!!!   :-(

This frog whirly was really moving in the extremely gusty winds today.  His little flower was spinning like crazy and as for the wheel he stands on, well, seeing is believing as they say!  ;-)      Added to that, he was turning around and facing the other way several times during the course of the day, I really think he had no idea which way he was going!!!  He was very amusing to watch and is certainly very colourful.

Day 93 – More Visitors!

It’s the May Day Bank Holiday today and we hadn’t made any arrangements to go anywhere or see anyone, so were very pleasantly surprised when my Stepson Clive and his other half Shelley and their children Sirenna and Logan arrived for a visit!!  As always, it’s lovely to see them.

(Hmmm! Yet again I can’t write below this photograph, those WordPress gremlins have been so very busy for over a week now, grrrrr)!!!

Anyone following my daily posts here will soon realise that whenever anyone visits, they tend to be photographed for this Project 365 photo journal on that same seat!!  I think I will call it the Photo Corner just for fun!  :-)

I wanted to add another photo to this post, but now the gremlins won’t let me upload another photo!!  Hopefully next time Clive, Shelley and my grandchildren visit, I will be able to post more than one photograph of them.

Day 92 – Just Passing By …

Original photograph taken by me – copyright 2011

Well, it seems that with the WordPress gremlins busy over the last week or so, they have changed their tactics yet again and now make it so my photo comes to the top of this post, so I can’t write above it and I had a really difficult time getting the second photo below the top one and to make it so I could write between the pics!!!  :-(       WordPress techies, when are you going to sort this out)?????

The reason why I posted the top photo is because my Stepson David and his wife Mandy and their children Lauren and Lewis were out and about today and were just passing by so they decided to call in on us, which was a lovely surprise – it’s always so good to see them all.

Because I am doing this Project 365 I just had to ask if I could take their pic for this photo journal and they agreed, so that is the above photo.

The below photo is of my granddaughter Lauren playing with our doggie Pippin.  Pips was getting  lots of cuddles from Lauren and I took the below pic as it seemed just so nice!!   :-)

Day 20: Visitors!

We had sort of surprise visitors today!  My stepson Clive phoned to ask if it was ok for him, his other half Shelley and their children to drop in for a while as Shelley was in-between shifts for her work and they were nearby.

Of course it was ok, they are welcome anytime, so as this visit wasn’t planned, it was ideal for my pic today!  ;-)

This is Clive, Shelley and their children Sirenna and Logan.  They kindly agreed to being photographed for my Project although I’m not so sure the children really understood what GrannyChris was going on about  :-)

As usual it was lovely to see them all, even if it was a not long enough break between shifts for Shelley!!
