Day 106 – Flat Packing!!

A while ago in my Day 85 post I showed our two remaining tropical fish in their temporary home as we were giving their big tank a Spring Clean.  Part of the Spring Clean means taking away the cupboard that the tank sits on normally and replacing it with a better looking piece of furniture.

Today my brother Alan came to visit us to help build the new sideboard from it’s flat-pack package.  Alan just loves to do flat-packing, unravelling all the bits and pieces, making sure everything is there and then build the item of furniture.  We appreciate Alan’s help and I’m sure if we get more flat-packed items he will be very keen to build whatever we get!!  :-)

Day 85 – Temporary Home

Once again I am posting this pic a day late because of the internet outage problems and/or the gremlins in WordPress!!

Yesterday’s photograph is of the temporary home (as of yesterday) for a couple of our pets.

These are the last two of our tropical fish!  Large, the golden algae-eater which you can just see poking his yellow head out from the rocks and Shoalie, (a shoaling fish which we have no idea what his type is) who can just be seen at the back of the tank near the top.  (Large is so called because he was the largest one of two we had at the same time, hence they were called Little and Large but Little died a long time ago).

The reason for the temporary home for Large and Shoalie is because their  much bigger main home is a bit old and very shabby looking now so we are giving it a good Spring-Clean and restocking it so it will be much nicer for these two fish, as well as having some new fish too.

The temporary home is a small tank in which we kept all the baby fish whenever they arrived until they grew a bit so they would not get eaten by the other fish.  When they grew big enough they then moved to the bigger tank.  We have kept tropical fish for a number of years now and find them fascinating and relaxing.

And as on a couple of previous days, I was going to add another pic, but the WordPress gremlins are making it so hard to get the photos uploaded and in the right place, so I will have to leave that!!  :-)
